Pharmacy Screwed Up - Wont Make Good

Hi all,

So I got my Humira shipment delivered this week and it came completely warm. It was hand delivered by someone from the "specialty" pharmacy I have to deal with. I called them several times and spoke to managers and they wont replace it and just insist the product is always kept cold. So now Im suffering with having to go a full month without Humira that is actually good.

Tried calling my insurance company. Tried calling Humira. No help. Im stuck. Any ideas?

Oh My!!!

That is just terrible. I am also taking Humira, and I know darn well that it NEEDS to be refrigerated. I am going to assume that because it was hand delivered, it was probably well past the point of refrigerating again. Shouldn't this mistake fall on the shoulders of the pharmacy? and since they are not being accountable for keeping it cold, could you possibly talk to you GI and get a letter of need to give to your insurance company?

Yes, thanks thats going to be my next course of action. of course my GI is on vacation this week but im hoping the doctor on call might be able to help me.

I'm not sure what professional bodies Pharmacists have in the US but if you have don't have success with the pharmacy you are dealing with I would make a complaint to the appropriate body.

I see there is a Pharmacists association in the US...

I couldn't find if Pharmacists are on a register in the US like they are here. If they are I would also contact them.
