physicians with crohns?

first, though i dont post often, i really love reading these boards and appreciate everyone sharing their experiences

i was wondering if any members were physicians with crohns who could share their experiences or PM me. i'm currently still in my training, but it's been quite an experience jumping back and forth between the doctor and patient roles, and I'm interested to hear how others have dealt with it...

I don't know anyone on the forum currently who's a physician but I believe there might be a couple nurses, one for sure. My thought is that maybe having it would make you more understanding and would want to take better care of your patients cause as a sufferer, its quite common to get a doc who hardly cares which leads to us getting sicker.

Glad you decided to join the forum and welcome! :D

There were a couple of ladies on the forum a few months ago, I think their names were Stephie and Collette (one was the crohnie and one was the caregiver), and they said that they were going to see a doctor in the UK who also had crohn's. I don't know of any physicians who are forum members, but like Crabby said, there's at least one nurse (Silvermoon) and I believe there are a couple of paramedics too.

Welcome Craptastic, :bigwave: there has only been one other in the medical studies but he has not been on here in ages, he was from Holland if I remember.

There are nurses and aides, but no doctors on here yet. My daughter is heading for medical school but still an undergraduate.

What training are you in and what field are you presently doing? Glad you found us. Tell us more about you.

Yes, I agree with Jetta! Tell us a bit more about yourself in the Your Story forum!! Meds, surgeries, how long you have had IBD???

And HI!! :bigwave: lol. I am one of the above mentioned nurses on the site.... I practice public health in remote/isolated nursing stations in Northern Alberta, but am surrently studying to get my Masters in Advanced Practice....

Welcome to the forum, and hopefully we get a chance to chat about similar experiences!! :)
