Hey everyone,
Im home after 6 days in hospital , due to colonosvopy prep gone wrong.
Started taking the prep and it made me vomit a lot, followed by lots and lots of bloody D. Spent the day in the toilet and generally feeling rubbish.
Woke the next day feeling worse , very dizzy, shaky, racing heart. Was due colonoscopy at 1pm but after fainting getting out of the bath at 11am my partner took me to the hospital.
They attempted to do the colonoscopy with sedation but had to stop as it was far to painful for me (also fainted on the way to the room)
Was addmitted to a ward and taken to have xrays. After which on the way back to the room started vomiting/shaking uncontroably and fainted out of the chair , came to and was surrounded by nurses and doctors being injected and with tubes in me (really scary as before this crohns i have never really been sick) They did blood tests and found out i had lost a lot of blood and needed a transfusion (1st one) and there was signs of inflamation and infection. So after a week in hospital/3 pints of blood/lots of painkillers/numerous drips and 2 diffrent types of antibiotics im home.
Im being refered to someone else now.
Really hoping things are going to get easier cause it's fair to say that after my 2nd hospital stay of 2011 , im kinda at rock bottom
Anyone else have this type of problem with the prep.
Terrified of having to go through it again
