Pictures of blood in stool

Hi all i no i keep posting horrible pictures but now im getting bright blood after i been to the gp today they gave me a stool sample kit and having diareah tonight im unsure what this means, should i be worried? Input would be great

My guess is you have a fistula in the rectum. Don't you feel weak? See a doctor.
I think there are some local treatments for that such as prednisone suppositories.
I hope you get better soon.

Yep..thats blood... I agree, see a doctor. Also, did you fill it to the line? Hate doing those tests. Scary huh? How do you feel health wise?

Hi, i do feel weaker and more generally unwell but i was passing black blood the other day and then this bright blood now i just dont get it. just wondered if it look serious

Hi Porter,

You should always take rectal bleeding seriously. Bright red rectal bleeding is usually from the bottom end of the colon. Could be inflammation, ulceration, diverticular bleeding, haemorrhoids, etc, need a colonoscopy / flexible sigmoidoscopy to determine which.

Black blood tends to mean it has been digested, so is usually from higher up the GI tract, which will probably mean you need an upper endoscopy to look for bleeding from you stomach or early small bowel.

If you are feeling weaker, it could be that you are becoming anaemic, would be worth a blood test to look for this.

Hi thanks everyone for the comments, i have had a blood test and no the bleeding has stopped now just in a lot more pain the sharpest pain around my right side but it has been spreadin under my belly button in last week, just couldnt understand from black blood to bright blood in a matter of days, am scheduled for a endoscopy next month just dont no how long i can wait
