It's 4 am here I have my pill cam at 8 30am and I can't sleep lol
I keep drinking water making sure I'm clear as I had to mix orange squash with the klean prep an I'm panicking I'm not cleared out lmao
I started it at 10 am yesterday and was clear after the first sachet !!! But kept on drinking clear liquids and running like a tap just in case !

My god that prep tastes minging just like the stuff I drank for my ct scan in September I couldn't stomach it without squash ! What a pussy !
For my scope I had picolax an I liked that !

Oh well fingers crossed I get some results in a couple of weeks I'll update as I go along xxxx

Well I have swallowed my pill and now it's 11:30am an I'm drinking my first cuppa mmmmmmmm lol just wondering am I allowed to continue drinking now and can I take my trammadol now? And will i get D when i eat or drink?
I know I can eat a small sarnie at 1 but that's all the info I got lol

I totally agree with you about the stuff you have to drink for a CT scan. I started off thinking this aint too bad and ended up almost choking on the last few cup fulls. Yuck ;)
I didn't mind the barium at all. Could've drunk a few more cups of that...

I hope everything went well with the pillcam today! I had mine done last week and I am still wating on the results hoping to get answers! I hope that you get some answers as well! I am thinking of you! :)
 
I wish they had that technology here in canada. We always get the cam up the a@@ test!!

For both Jenny and Sherry, my experience was that the pillcam results take awhile. For me, I was told it takes about a month and I believe it took just short of a month for me to get my results back. The reason it takes so long is that the doctor has to look at each image, which can take a long time.

I hope both of you get your results back relatively quickly and get some answers! I'm still undiagnosed myself (my pill cam came back totally normal unfortunately, along with pretty much every other test result) so I know the frustration of waiting for answers.

I kind of figured it will take a while to get the results, I was told that a total of over 57,000 images would be taken! I find that amazing! I too have not been officially diagnosed but I am being treated for it! My doc doesn't want to start other treatment with out proof that I have it! I just really hope I get some type of answers, cuz living like this not knowing what is wrong with me for sure is ao frustrating. What are your symptoms?

It seems a bit mad to me that some of us can't be diagnosed 100% without numerous tests when the treatment like steroids for ibd clearly is the only thing that
works for me, no amount of ibs meds do anything for me and my ct scan showed inflamation of small and large intestines, I'm positive that ibs does not cause this correct me if I'm wrong.

I just hope this pill cam gives me a definate diagnosis and yours sherry , i can't imagine this pain being ibs at all.

I really hope they do figure this out for you too Jenny! There is nothing more frustrating than not knowing what is wrong! I really don't think that ibs causes inflammation but I'm not a doctor either, although sometomes I really wish I was! And same for me, I dont think that ibs causes fistulas and perianal abscesses, but I guess I could be wrong! I just know I had never heard of CD until 3 1/2 yrs ago when I ended up in the hospital needing emergency surgery on the perianal abscess thay ruptured and perforated something, (I think my rectum) but I need to get my medical records to see what was said by all these doctors! Good luck Jen!

I am going to be having the pill cam next Friday. Do you know how far down the digestive track the pill will be able to photograph? Does it reach the TI?

Quick question, were you able to request the pilcam as I have a real problem with Barium/Picolax etc .... it makes me feel shaky even saying the names!

I am pleased to hear we have a pillcam in the UK. I have only seen it on "House" and part of me thought it might be ficticious !

I have a ct scan next week and then my next step if that doesn't show anything is a pill cam. Looking forward to drinking the prep for that. Aren't we all just amazing at drinking whatever a doctor puts in a cup for us as long as we might think it holds an answer?

I truthfully didn't mind the barium at all either bushydougie...even the nurse was impressed with how quickly I gulped that stuff down. I guess part of it may be because I had not had any liquids for 12 hours prior? Just a thought.

good luck! i had a pill cam too it was huge! the stuff before was the wrost stuff ive tatsed i nearly refused to have it done but my mum made me drink it lol x

We do have the capsule endoscopy (pillcam) in canada. I don't think it's in every province yet though. We just got in Alberta. Back in 2008, they did a research study on it in Edmonton and now it is approved here. I still got the one up the butt. I am waiting for the pillcam to check out the small bowel.

I thought I should let you know that it is here and an option if you need it. You can go to other provinces for it (from my understanding) and have it covered.

This test was the best thing I ever did!!!
I finally got my diagnosis 100% ( gutting to have crohns but at least I have my answers ).
It was sooooo easy only the prep the day b4 was not nice but it's the same for a scope etc so we r all used to it lol
The computer pack u carry round is slightly heavy after wearing it all day lol.
Honestly this test is a piece of cake !!! And your gastro gets a full view of your sb so knows exactly the extent of damage you have !!

Good luck any of you who are having this test done !!
Trust me it's well worth it!!

So glad it got you an answer. I have seen many diagnosis from this test in here lately :(
I asked my GI again last week but it was still a no. Is a real shame, prep was going to be a fast too and no laxatives. Will be having an upper endoscopy though.
