pimple?

just a quickie, ive been fairly lucky with weird things an stuff, well i think i have.
i did have a hard sort of pimple,(i think) about a fingertip inside the anus, it was tough-ish, i only stumbled across it while wipeing one very itchy anus, i kept an eye on it for a couple of month, then it just dissapeered.

was this anything related??

my doctor just booked me the smaller camera up the you know where:eek2: ,
when i went last week, also another barium meal which i dont mind too
much compaired to the camera, just to check up.

mark

Pimples do not occur inside the anus. There are no pours to get clogged and no sweat glands to clog them.

It sounds like it could have been an anal skin tag (perianal crohn's skin tag) they are known to appear and then disappear on their own.

:)

Disappearing skin tags seem unlikely consider it's a small beneign tumor. It is possible that it was ripped off during a BM. You would probably see a lot of blood though.

I have something quite similar, Mark.

Most of the time it's a hard lump -- like that of a pimple. Sometimes it turns into a ridge of skin (or so it feels like).

I must really insist the doc check it out next time I see him. I've mentioned it before, but he's assured me it's a hemorrhoid (sight unseen!). That's not good enough for me.

What did it feel like? Hemorrhoids can burn, and itch. An abscess would probably sting if you touched it.

Oh, and you may find a bit of epsom salt in your bath (and switching to a non-deodorant soap) helpful in alleviating the itching.

Of course, the old adage "if symptoms persist, consult your physician" applies.

No actually and speaking from experiance my tags would appear and disappear (shrink down is what they do) completely on their own for a few yrs BEFORE I actually ran into problems with the crohn's becoming severely active internally.

I also had a colon and rectom surgeon tell me the same thing about tags, how when they shrink up (on their own or via meds) that's when they could be snipped off in the Dr. office without issue.

Perianal crohn's skin tags are diseased tissue that get inflamed, they can shrink up just as inflammation can go away internally.

:)

I realize it's not the most pleasant aspect of the job, but I'm a bit steamed my doc won't take a peek up my crack just to confirm what the heck is there.

I'd do it myself if I could, but I'm not much of a contortionist with a mirror and magnifying glass.

Maybe I could use my webcam:lol: and post it online.

Shame on your doc for not being thorough, especially when you have concerns in that area...one good way to check is put your left foot up on the edge of your bathroom counter and using a magnified mirror in your right hand aiming at your butt will help you get a look-see.

I once saw a *cough* "Educational" film that started out that way...:eek2:

Yeah, maybe I didn't press my concern strongly enough. Otherwise, he's a pretty intentive doc.

LOL, I know it's an "odd" position, but it can be helpful (apparently in more ways than one).

If you're referring to your GI not taking a look there, then that seems odd in itself since it is afterall their "expertise", but even if it's your GP, knowing you have crohn's, he should be checking the area if you mentioned any concerns about it to him.

:)

Don't have a GI yet. :(

I've been in referral status for several months. Might not see one for many more.

after reading these answers youve got me worried, i dont think it was anything like them pictures. anyway i told the gp this and he booked me in for the shorter camera, im not looking forward to this as i cant stand them.
