Ive been having issues with my eyes and mouth since last year and after having a torrid time with my crohns recently I seem to have recovered.... Only to be told today I have plateau iris and need eye surgery!!

I'm only 28... Should I really have gluacoma??

The drops I am on are Philocarpine are giving me the most awful headache! I feel like jamming my head in a door and slamming it!

Anybody ever heard of this?

I had never heard of Plateau Iris before. What specific symptoms do you have and does your doctor think it's related to your IBD?

High pressure spikes of around 50 (unsure of unit pressume its pascal)
Seeing halo's around lights, pain in eyes...

just been to hospital again and im having surgery on the 20th to widen release valve on both eyes...

Not sure if its connected to crohn's but it has began as an inflamitory problem.

No history of Gluacoma but there is none of IBD either... Prolonged use of Prednisolone isnt going to help but the surgeon believes it is genetic and I have been born with the problem.

just adds to the ever so large list...Crohn's(everywhere), osteoperosis, asthma, excema, Sinusitis and now Gluacoma and Plateau Iris... Anybody have a spare new body??

It's just annoying as the drops i have to take make me very short sighted which means i cant drive to work or even do any work! ( I am self employed)
