I have been prescribed entocort and I can not afford it is there an alternative for this medication.

Yes and no. You could ask for prednisone which is also a steroid although it comes with a lot more side effects, however it is relatively cheap. You might want to weigh the options with your doctor.

Thank you, after reading the forum and talking to my doctor we decided that Flagyl ( Metronidazole ) would be good for me to start on. They already called it in to my pharmacy. The price of the Entocort with my insurance $185.06. The price of the Flagyl $3.25. Getting help and information from this forum "Priceless!"

Was gonna say as the others, Entocort is expensive but mild in comparison to Prednisone which is really cheap. Flagyl which I am on it cheap, Cipro isn't!

I again don't have to tell you , do NOT drink or anything alcohol based like cough syrup, you wanna learn was puking your guts are all about , go ahead. Trust me on that one, EVERYONE on here knows that!

If you cant get your flares down with Flagyl (take probiotics or yogurt or you may get a yeast infection) Prednisone does work but better off in shorter and less dose tapers!

I wonder how many months of pills that was for?

Is it subsidized here in Canada?

I just paid $34 for a bottle of 100 at Shoppers this afternoon. I guess I should appreciate my insurance coverage a little more :(
