If you eat something and then it comes out the other end still fully identifiable, that's not a good thing, is it? In this case, it was sliced almonds. It wasn't DS, I know he shouldn't have nuts. It was the non-IBD kiddo.

If they're still whole it means they weren't digested and broken down, right? Should they be avoided?

My oldest non Ibd kiddo has that issue typically the food just wasn't chewed well
Our GI wasn't concerned at all about
Only concerned with DS when food comes out whole as part of watery D .

Lots of non-ibd folks may see undigested food from time to time.

"Occasionally, you may see undigested food fragments in stool. This usually is high-fiber vegetable matter, which isn't digested by the enzymes in your digestive tract.

Undigested food in stool generally isn't a problem unless it's accompanied by persistent diarrhea, weight loss or other changes in your bowel habits. If you have such signs and symptoms, consult your doctor."

If it happens every once in awhile I think it's no big deal but if it happens on a regular basis and very soon after eating then I think it's worth bringing up...especially if it's almost your entire meal. Ex- sandwich was eaten, 2 hrs later said sandwich was passed aND all or almost all parts of sandwich can be noted/seen.
