Hi everyone,
I have been reading this forum for about 6mths and really enjoy it so i thought it was about time i joined.
I got really sick last July/August. It started in January with lower back pain and pain in both my hips that would seem to give way on me. About Feb last year, i had more frequent bowel movements and gradually started losing weight. I saw my Doctor a couple of times who referred me for a hip xray and physio. but the diaorrhea continued and would get worse when my hips or back would give out.
In June i developed Hemmorhoids and a fissure which reduced me to tears daily.
In July, i lost almost a stone in weight, bedridden, couldn't keep food in couldn't drink so very dehydrated. Finally the end of July i packed a hospital bag, rang a doctor for a emergancy appointment and asked my husband to take me. As i was so ill with a high temperature and a heart rate of 130 resting, she admitted me to the hospital.
I was so relieved as i really thought i was going to die, i also thought i had cancer!!
At the hospital, I had bloodtests and everything and slowly recovered.
After a Colonoscopy in october, I was diagnosed with Crohns in my large intestine. A barium Meal ruled it out in my small intestine.
This year im seeing a Rheumatologist re my hips, back and now my Shoulder. It seems never ending, but my care has been good, i have a Dr, GT and a nurse.
Currently on Pentasa but i think this will change soon if im diagnosed with Enteropathic Arthritis.
What a carry on!!!
Hayley
