I had a double reserve mediport placed yesterday and I was in a lot of pain when I came out of the anesthesia the nurses were wonderful in making sure my pain was controlled. However, today was rough and it is now after 3 am and I can't get any relief to even dose off for longer than 30 minutes. I am very sorry can barely turn my head to the left and limited movement and function of the left arm. The port site itself looks good and is just sore to the touch it is everywhere else.
Did anyone else have issues like this after port placement. It scars me a little in that I worry something is wrong. Not having any difficulty breathing or crushing chest pains just limited range of motion and pain in neck arm and around the site. Anyone have suggestions on what may help make me more comfortable. I am taking my pain meds faithfully:sign0085:

I'm currently in the hospital and on a mediport ( what I call painball) My nurse told me that I will be in more pain tomorrow once they take away my pump. I am also sore to the touch and have pain in my shoulders and chest. I have always found it helpful to sit up and lean over on a pillow..kinda like in a fetal position..It helps for a while, but not for a really long time. Just as long as you can lay like that. I hope this helps.. I hope you heal up soon~!
