Hi guys
Not sure where to post so hope this is okay. Just wanting any advice really.
Been back to GP after 1 week of pred and not much improvement, a little better with the bleeding and slightly less bowel movements. Maybe from 12-14 a day down to under 10
Given me 30mg pred + two pumps pred a day - to taper off the pred after 7 days in 5mg stages. He has said if it is not better then I will have to be admitted, am hoping it responds well.
I have not had a flare in 3 years, currently studying and working full time, I knew the stress would cause a flare before my exams..it was just unavoidable. Have spoken to the exam board- hopefully should be able to get extra time for toilet breaks etc etc.
GP has said as I have been controlling it with diet for 3 years I wont get to see a consultant again unless I have 3 more flares. I guess depending on how I respond to this treatment will see - Can go privately to see the gastro that diagnosed me.
I am currently having great trouble drinking or eating. Drinking is causing the main trouble. The GP just says to force myself to drink - I am literally doubled up after less than 50ml. Lucky if I can drink 200ml each day. I have been having lollies just to get some extra fluid. Got Mint tea to try, but warm liquid seems to be even more uncomfortable right now.Having a little to drink, tried to eat, 2 small spoons of rice and that was agony. Will continue to try.. now lost 7lb. Any ideas or anything I could try?? Willing to give anything a go.. got today to stay in bed.. so can experiment :eek2:
Thanks guys, sorry for such a long post!
