I have a bit of a dilemma.
I've recently been diagnosed with Crohn's disease, which is currently not too bad (stomach pain irritating but not unbearable thanks to Mebeverine and Pentasa, many toilet trips). My doctor has prescribed a course of Prednisolone, to which the side effects look pretty scary. And in the longer term, he says I will probably move to Azathioprine, which looks even scarier.
I've been reading a lot about the Stone Age diet. I'm pretty sure I am sensitive to cow's milk, gluten and wheat but continue to eat it. I'm pretty convinced that there is some connection there to my Crohns. Some people say they have managed to control Crohns with only their diet, where symptoms were mild.
My dilemma is whether to go onto Prednisolone considering my Crohns symptoms aren't yet that bad, or whether to try the Stone Age diet instead? The diet is a pretty serious lifestyle change but with mild symptoms, seems like a more risk-free answer...
