Hi everyone, just wanted to share that I'm really starting to feel better! After being diagnosed only a couple of months ago, my GI started me on Pred and Aza around 2 weeks ago. These drugs were very scary for me (side effects wise) and I did consider not taking them (for about 5 seconds).
GI also put me on a bunch of vitamins (D, Calcium, Iron and B12 shots). I don't know whether it's the vits or the Pred, but I've been feeling sooooo much better since Just basically much less tired (I was having 3 naps a day, mostly on the train), happier, more alert and more patience with my hubby!
I've also had no D for over a week now, and no sudden needs to run to the toilet! I know it's not over, this is a lifelong illness, but now I know how good it feels to feel normal! This has been the best week I can remember for years!
I've had only a couple of minor side effects (numb tongue, felt a bit funny a couple of days) and this has been such a relief. I honestly expected the worst when starting these drugs, and I've been so pleasantly surprised. It's still early days tho...
Anyway, just wanted to share something positive with you all, as this is my new favourite website! I've learnt a lot just from reading others experiences - I think every disease out there should have a great supportive forum like this!!!
