I'm tapering 10mg at a time off the prednisone. I'm feeling like someone ran me over. Like flu(ish). My tummy is rumbly (you know that ol' crohn's disease rumble). I haven't taken prednisone in years. Has anyone else felt this bad coming off of them? I was on 20mg for 2 weeks. Now I'm at 10 mg.

I'm also supposed to start my humira loading dose tomorrow and I'm all paranoid about taking it not knowing what the heck is going on right now.

10 mg at a time is too much. I do 5 mg at higher doses and 2.5 at a time once I get to 10 mg.

I was on 40mg a week and was reducing at 5mg per week over 8 weeks..
Seems a big drop at your current dose...

hi there. im tapering as well . i was told to only taper 2.5 mg at a time . i started at 30mgs in aug. i started to taper on oct 6 and am tapering 2.5 mgs every saturday. my pharmacist even said that may to fast.

Like the others have said, it sounds like 10 mg is too much. 10 mg was too much for me (honestly even 5 mg was too much for me, but I had to grin and bear it). Tapering off of Prednisone can be painful no matter what.

I hope you start feeling better soon. I wouldn't worry about that Humira dose. I hope Humira works wonders for you and it keeps you off the Pred long term! Good luck.

Like everyone else here, I've tapered more slowly in the past. 5mg every week or 2, depending on how I feel.
As for the Humira, try not to worry too much. Stings like a mother, but will hopefully make you feel better long term!

Just got to 20 mg from 40 mg, decreasing by 5 mg a week. I have been so lethargic, just completely wiped out! The joints in my knees have also started to bother me. I'm afraid I'm going to have to slow my taper down some.
