Prednisone tapering

Hello everyone

I recently started prednisone at 60mg with a 10mg taper. I was feeling so much better having regular bowel movements , less cramps and even little to no bleeding. Now im down to 30mg it seems like all of my symptoms have suddenly resurfacing. Has anyone else experianced this???:yfaint:

Yes, I do every time I am on prednisone. It is wonderful- I can eat more like a regular person, and have an easier time with bowel movements. Now I am off, and miserable. If I eat, I pay for it- terrible pain, and everything settles and hurts where my resection was. In addition, I go back to the thing ribbonlike stools. So...back to liquids for a while and then low residue.

So basically I should start all over, my doctor told me to go back up 10 for now...so I did that .so liquids & ensure will set my bowels back??? I've been in so much pain and like u said the ribbon like stool

I just go to the liquids and Ensure so I don 't have to deal with the bloating, pain, and the partial obstructions. I am waiting to start a steroid sparing drug. Probably methotrexate, but I don 't imagine it conrolling the inflammation as good as the steroids do. I hope your doctor comes up with a better plan for you - hang in there!
