Prednisone vs Entocort

Hi Hershey. They're not really comparable. Entocort is not systemic. I'm on 9mg a day and don't notice any side effects.

9 mg Entocort is roughly equal to 40 mg Prednisone BUT you will not see the same side effects with Entocort, because only about 20% is absorbed systemically.

My kiddo was on Entocort for over a year and she only had a puffy face on it - none of the other side effects you see with Prednisone.

That said, Entocort is still a steroid. We recently saw an endocrinologist (she has Cushing's syndrome from being on steroids for so long - both Prednisone and Entocort) and we were told we REALLY have to minimize steroids as much as possible, even Entocort.
