Prednisone without doctor approval

Hey guys i was daignosed with chrons 2 years ago recently this other doctor took me off all meds and says he doesnt think it is chrons, i have been very sick and I dont see this guy for another 10 days, i got 7 exams this weekend in 3 days and i need to do something as i have severe pain, cramping and awful nausea - saw a family dr. yesterday he said that whatever i have going on isnt surgical but its pretty bad and he said i could make my own choice whether to go on prednisone or to go to emerg! i dont have time for emerg so should i just try the prednisone it has helped me in the past!

I'm on Pred at the mo, and this was with my GPs approval, not the gasto's, they don't know about it, and probably don't give a toss anyway!
And my GP said, 'Pred or A&E, the choice is yours'
I opted for the Pred and feeling much better now

I would also take the pred. What dosage did your family doctor put you on? Also, I would switch doctors - the one who took you off all your meds sounds like he doesn't know what he's doing! Is that your GI who did that? You may want to ask your family doc for a referral to a new GI if this one decided you don't need any meds. Good luck with the pred and good luck on your exams.
