Prednisone

Sorry I was wondering if anyone had any of these side effects I had to be taken off Enocort during my flare and they have put me on Pred. I have seem to be very tired but cannot sleep and if i do im luckly if I only have a couple of hours! How long does it take to get this drug working in your system? I need to get back to work as they are moaning as I have been off now for three weeks any advise would be great.

Also my joint pain goes during the day but comes back bad at night any suggestions to would be great!!

Sleeplessness is common with Prednisone. When are you taking it, and how much?

Tylenol can sometimes help with the joint pain. Ibuprofen may work but is contraindicated by your Crohn's so you'll have to tread lightly with it.

That's a significant dose that would keep me awake at night, too.

You might try taking some benadryl at night but you may wake up foggy from it. It's not truly restful sleep but maybe better than none.

As you wean off the steroid you'll sleep better again.

Same boat buddy. 40Mg dose 4 days ago and having trouble falling into a deep sleep. I'm going to see my GP on Monday to see if there's anything I can safely take to sleep.

One concern i do have is that I'm going back to work part time next week, and I need to be able to actually wake up for my alarm!
