Prednisone

Hi, I am on a low dose of prednisone only 15 mg. per day. My heart keeps racing throughout the day, any advice. I am about ready to flush them down the toilet:ybatty:

DO NOT quit the prednisone cold! You will feel a lot worse, believe me -- prednisone withdrawal is NASTY.

The heart racing is not an uncommon side effect. It might go away, though. You should talk to your doctor about it.

Wih your symptoms I would check with a doctor about it as soon as possible., or go to the ER.
Don't mess with cardiac symptoms.
Perhaps it is not the prednisone causing it.

Ditto to what everyone else said, do not stop taking it without talking to your doc first.

Hi!
i really suffered with this problem as well! a nurse told me to cut out caffeine as that can make it a lot worse. so i am now caffeine free whilst on pred. i have noticed that on the odd occasion i do have some caffeine, my heart palpitations come back.
i was in hospital when mine started so i know it was just pred and nothing serious - but i would go and get it check out or speak to your Dr at least - just to be on the safe side.
