problems with enemas?
So I have an appointment with my surgeon this afternoon and she always asks me to do a Fleets Enema as prep prior to my rectal exam. Although not usually pleasant, I have never had too much of a problem...until this morning. Immediately after dispensing the enema, I had to run to the toilet...not even 30seconds. And all that came out was the liquid from the enema and a bit of mucous. I tried to push and got a few "raisins" out, but that's it. My appointment is at 2:15, so I did this prior to work. Now I have this really bad pain all along my lower left side. I can't stand up straight. I don't usually have much pain like this, so I have to think that it had something to do with the enema. I still have not pooped, which is unusual for me. Normal would be at least 3-4 times by now. Of course, I haven't eaten because I don't want to ruin the prep, so that may have something to do with it...but what is causing this pain????
Anyone had this before? Or have any thoughts?
