Mr general dr. has referred me to a gi specialist. He says my IgG and Iga levels are extremely high. Does anyone know what this means exactly, he referred to these antibodies as brewers yeast. The report summary reads that 80% of Crohn's patients have these 2 antibodies in their systems.

my IgG = 66.4 results

my IgA = 176.4 results

The normal range is 0-24.9 for both antibodies.

I am new to this and this is my first steps to being diagnosed with C.D. Thanks for looking at post. Any information would be appreciated.

thanks,
Matt

IgG and IgA may be raised in presence of certain conditions which include chronic inflammatory conditions such as found in crohn's disease
.It is an immune system reaction.
The brewers yeast referred to is likely to be Saccharomyces cerevesiea in which the body produces antibodies found in some crohn's patients.
Treatment will reduce the immune antibodies levels..
Hope this is helpful to you
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes
