So I have a colonoscopy coming up in a month and will most likely be menstruating. I can't really reschedule as I've already cleared the last part of my day to be home to prep (and doing this requires several months notice for anything but a true emergency). Will this be a problem?

I've never thought about this before, guess I lucked out with the timing of my prior scopes...

I've never thought about that before either! But I'd assume that you'll be using tampons and it wouldn't be a problem, I don't see why it would.....

It's fine, I've had it happen. I just used tampons but if you don't want to just let your nurse know before the scope.

Let your nurse know just so there is no panic of "mystery blood" should you have a leak during the procedure.

As patient I understand your trepidation it is a normal body function but it something most of us consider private. As a nurse let me assure you we as health care professionals would not be the least bit phased by it. It is a normal part of our job. Please don't be embarrassed by it.
