Do any of you get random muscle twitches...I am having them terrible in my legs lately!!!!!

Hope everyone is well!!!

I get really painful spasms at night in my lower legs, not sure if its connected to IBD but its horrible. Because the Asacol does cause joint pain I was also wondering if this was the cause.

These aren't painful...just twitching...for hours..

I actually did a no no and didn't start my asacol...so I'm actually just doing vitamins right now...

Thanks for the response:) I appreciate it!!!!

Muscle twitches can actually come as a result of Vitamin D. Try cutting back on vitamins that contain Vitamin D for a little while, unless you have a recent confirmed Vitamin D defficiency.

I had the same thing from multivitamins that contained Vitamin D, and it sounded weird that even suchj a low dose could do it, but somone told me, I tried cutting them, and the twitches are gone. Mine would be in the large thigh muscles, very uncomfortable, actually, but not painful.

Thanks xray..although my vitamin d has been excessively low..(it was 6 just a year ago) and I am on the doctor recommended dose to keep it from ever been so low again.

I have noticed oddly I feel some better when I drink a gatorade..so I'm thinking my electrolytes are out of balance.

My fatigue is my biggest problem as of now. No D in about 10 months (except for the occasional bout) but the fatigue is still unrelentless....along with my joint pain.

Thanks for the replies:) They are appreciated:)!

Here's some info on it: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003296.htm

Happens to my calf and eyelids (upper and lower) on occasion. As mentioned it could be a vitamin deficiency or stress etc. Have some blood work done to see if you're currently low on anything. If it happens a lot or causes a loss in sensation then you'll want to contact your doctor.

When I had my MRI scan, I had just been ill in the toilet from the prep (yeah, MRI prep made me ill, I am dreading scope preps!!) and the nurse who was taking care of me that day took me to another seat away from everyone else. She tried to suggest as to how they could make my 'stay' better and more comfortable for me. She really was a lovely nurse! Unfortunately, I had a random spasm or twitch of the whole body and chucked the rest of my prep over her, the floor and myself. :)
