Do they come and go on their own? Do they hurt?

I think I might have had one recently as I'd see blood on the toilet paper and in my stool. Obviously a difficult part of the body for one to view oneself, but I did feel something bumpy "back there" a couple of months ago. It itched for a while, so I put some Gold Bond Lotion on it.

Or maybe it was a hemorroid? I dunno. I've gone through long periods untreated where I really didn't do much about my various aches and pains.

If you're using the toilet a lot, you can get anal fissures. These are just tears which should heal by themselves.

It could be haemorrhoids as well, so you should mention it to your doc.

I think I'd go with the anal fissure view. Can't be delicate about this I'm afraid, but usually I can tell from what I've passed whether there's going to be some blood on the toilet paper! Just a smear... loads of it is a different matter, but I can usually tell when that's going to happen too. It's the joy of being at one with one's bowels!
Itching may indicate it's haemorrhoids... or it may mean you've just had to do too much rubbing with the paper (of necessity, of course).

I just had a load of blood come out this morning then lots on my toilet paper, looked like a crime scene. Kinda freaked me out to be honest with you.
