So my dr called and said that he was confident enough from the upper gi series to go ahead and treat my ulcer then check on the healing months down the line so praise the LORD for that!!!! But my question is his switching me from prilosec 40mg a day to daxliant(spelling) y is that is this acid reducer better for ulcers than prilosec? Just wondering seems like my prilosec is working just hate to have to quit whats been helping me but I guess the dr knows best!!

I hope it proves successful and you will be healed. I'm not familiar with the treatment of ulcers so I can't comment on that.

I know someone who has crohn and also dealt with the bactery H.Pylori which resulted in ulceration of the stomach. She was initially taking losec and nexium to treat the reflux but was switch to dexilant thereafter. Apparently it works better.

Am I understanding that you won't be having the endoscopy or you just did it?

No the dr suggested treating now then a endoscopy later to check healing he said he did not find any strictures or anything like that just the ulcer so he decided to treat it now and check later which I'm so happy about!!!! But kinda nervous about coming off the prilosec but he seemed pretty Forsure that that was the best route for me.

I had ulcer treatment a while back losec and I,ve forgot the other tablet they work very well, had to take them for a month didn't,t upset anything other than give me a really good appetite.
Good luck

Well see if this works if not he may try the losec med but I have a feeling it's been healing since I've been on the prilosec I've slowly been getting my appitite back and less indigestion that's y I'm nervous about coming off my prilosec but I gotta listen to my dr
