Hello all, I've had random episodes of incredibly painful diarrhea ever since I was a kid (I'm 21 now) that happen about once a month, sometimes more. I don't have any kind of diet, I eat things that I probably shouldn't. I am currently undiagnosed. have been to a gastroenterologist but all he gave me was an upper endoscopy, which turned out fine and he sent me on my way. I have these diarrhea episodes about once a month as I said, but judging by the unbelievable amount of pain I go through during them I would say it probably isn't normal diarrhea.

But the thing I'm wondering is, if you have chrons can you eat certain things and feel fine one day, but eat it on the wrong day and be wishing you hadn't? Or is it a disease where when you eat something you shouldn't, you will always pay the price? My attacks seem to come on at random but I have seen a few triggers (caffeine, chicken, milk). I can ingest these things most of the time and feel fine though, just about once a month my body will decide it doesn't like these things. Really trying to figure out what is going on here.

Hi Andy
Everyone is different with regard to food, some people react others don't.
I have not found any food which triggers my crohn's
There will be others on here who will be along to fill in their experiences.
It is a bit concerning that your GI did not do a colonoscopy, especially with your symptoms.
It might be a good idea for you to see another GI with perhaps some experience with the diagnosis of IBD.
Did you have any lab work done ?
Feel better soon
Hugs and best wishes

Yes I did have a stomach biopsy, which returned normal as well. He gave me some antibiotics for the bloating I described to him and told me to buy some probiotics, so as you can see he wasn't very helpful.
