Really starting to worry now

Ok so I'm back on sulphasalzine I can't tolerate aza, Pentasa, asacol and macaptopurine, I'm feeling really low and going to the toilet 5-6 times a day, no energy and sleeping a lot (well for me anyway) and I'm having huge tummy rumbles and I mean huge!!! Some lasting 4 or 5 seconds or maybe longer. I'm starting to worry about having a blockage. Any thoughts, not feeling good at the moment.

I am not sure, but I was always told that with a blockage( a bad one that is) usually there would be a lack of bowel sounds and also inability to even pass gas. Dont quote me on this, I am sure some others will chime in here. I just remember asking my gastro doc about it as I was worried and he told me that when one has a blockage, the abdomin usually feels firm and rigid( not soft) and also you tend to swell up and bloat( A lot) like you look pregnant type of bloat.

Does not sound like symptoms of my two blockages. I basically did not go to the bathroom at all (I don't remember for how long) and threw up some really disgusting stuff over and over again. After I threw up all the food there was to throw up I was throwing up what tasted like bile (?!) and almost like feces (yuck). I had a fever and the 'sick' part of my terminal ileum was very hard. I could feel it over my appendics.
So, I don't think you're there yet, but I also do remember having a lot of rumbling and bloating during those few months when the two blockages happened. See what others have to say and if things don't get better talk to your Doc. Hope you feel better soon!

I had the horrible gurgling and bloat in the months leading up to my blockage. Later someone said the sound was likely stuff going through the narrowing part of my intestines.

It sounded like I had a coffee pot under my shirt sometimes.

Good luck.

Call your doc - that is what they are here for!

I have had 3 partial bowel blockages. With all three I had major pain, threw up and couldn't pass gas or have a BM. As soon as I throw up, I know it is ER time.

Best of luck!

Can't get to see my doctor at the hospital til march 11 but have called my local docs and they are leaving me a prescription out for some movicol. Let's see if that helps?

I was also told that with a blockage there is no noise or movement or BMs. Vomiting is also a sign of a blockage.
Have you changed your diet? Eating more/any fibre, milk or beans?
Are you swallowing air or chewing gum? or eating foods containing sweeteners that may increase intestinal gas such as the sugar alcohols sorbitol, maltitol, xylitol, mannitol, and others?
Try to sip cooled down boiled water, sip, don't drink. It should help with gas and bloat.

Not changed my diet in years, its only been since christmas this noise has started. I once had a blockage but still went to the toilet a little, the doc said the stuff I was managing to pass was going round the blockage? I am losing weight again and have lost some apatite. Not sure what's going on at the moment...
