I recently went through a pretty bad flare in the last two months, and I lost a lot of muscle mass. I started Humira on Saturday, and already there are noticeable improvements in my symptoms.

This makes me excited! I'm eager to gain weight back, but I've always had (what I feel is) a crappy workout regimen. I was hoping to get some advice on this.

Here's what I did before the flare:
Reps with dumbbells, usually 20s, sometimes 25s
Jack-knives
Push ups
Squats with weights
Hand grips

I also performed the occasional side-plank, but I don't always because I hate them.

What is missing that would help make this a better, more rounded regimen? I don't have any fancy equipment here, and I don't feel like joining a gym for now. Also, I'm not looking to moderate my calorie intake. I need to eat as much as I can because I'm a skinny kid even when I'm not flaring.

Much appreciated my fellow Crohnies!

Have you tried Freeletics? It's a great, motivating workout regime, but you need to really, really stick with it for a few weeks to get into it.

There are also some funny (meant to be insuring ;) ) vids on the internet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuhzWKbRq6s

I am still doing Freeletics 3 months in, but too sporadically, but want to get into the normal regime (3-4 workouts per week) again soon. This IS definitely building muscles, I was doing the first month mostly according to the plan, which was pretty tough, but worked.

Wonderful, I'll check that out. I feel that I should wait a little longer to really confirm that I'm heading towards remission, but once that's done I'll have no problems with starting a high-intensity workout regimen.
