Has anyone else had a red blood cell transfusion due to a seriously low haemoglobin level (and of course my white blood cell count is totally depleted thanks to the increase dosage of Mercaptopurine that I've been on!!). It was all a bit extreme for me having to go into hospital for the transfusion and then be told the following day by one of Gastro doctor's that I should stop taking the Mercaptopurine and they are now going to start me on Humira!! Has anyone else had a similar experience? I do seriously worry about my poor inards and what the drugs are doing to my system (yes, I know there is some good to the drugs but in my head I think it's evil!!):ymad:
Anyway, so my next appt with my Gastro doc is in September so I have until then to psyche myself up to hear about the Humira treatment. Alll I want is to be in remission and right now it seems as it will never happen!! :yrolleyes:
