Has anyone heard of this trial? Long story shot I have surgery scheduled for next Wednesday to have my large bowel removed and an ileostomy installed. My family is struggling with this since I'm only 25 years old. One of them found out about a study that's currently ongoing and suggested that I find a way to become involved. It's a double blind trial where you either receive the trial drug or placebo and it's a 12 month study.

I'm nervous that if I put off surgery for this trial that I'll still be in pain and would still end up going under the knife. Has anyone had any success with clinical trials or know anything about this specific trial?

Hi Andrew. I am sorry for what you are going through. My 23 year old son has Crohn's. He is currently on the 3 drug combo as Red Hill's RHB-104 clinical trial. He has been on the abx for 7 months. He is not in remission, but is doing better. He was prescribed the meds through Dr. William Chamberlin in Billings, MT. I have the links to Red Hill Biopharma's adult trial and a link to the results from Red Hill's pediatric trial. The forum won't allow me to post the links since I have not met the 10 post forum post requirement yet. Feel free to message me or email me at [email protected] if you want the links or Dr. Chamberlin's contact info.

Thanks for your response. After talking with my wife I think I'm going to avoid this trial and continue with my plans for surgery. I just don't feel comfortable being restricted on my medicines without the ability to change them if needed. Thank you very much for the information though and I hope your son feels better!
