Randomized, controlled trial of high and low red meat consumption in Crohn's patients showed that lower meat consumption provided no benefit in extending remission periods. This is significant because it has been widely believed that consumption of red meat is "pro-inflammatory" and likely to induce flares. This data contradicts that notion.
