Remicade, imuran and accutane safe together?

Hi there, my son went to his 3rd remiacde treatment yesterday. While he had a visit with his GI doc they talked about his acne. Since being diagnosed in jan with Crohns, he was put on a high dose of prednisone and his skin broke out bad. Especially during his second flare.

Finally off the pred for 2 weeks his acne is still bad. After trying different topical stuff and seeing a dermatologist they recommend accutane. From what I've heard its a very scary powerful drug.

My concern is with all the meds he's taking...remicade, imuran as well as daily allergy pills for seasonal allergies. Adding another powerful drug?

I heard accutane causes crohns but what if you already have crohns? Anyone out there have started accutane after diagnoses?

Hey. I'd have a serious discussion with your GI doctor first.
I went on it after diagnosis and got far worse. This was back in the 1980's.

I've heard that Accutane causes flares in people with CD or UC. I take Minocycline and it completely controlled my prednisone-caused acne.

I'm also on biologic/immunosuppressant combinations if that helps! Was on Remicade/Imuran, then switched to Humira/Imuran and now Humira/6mp.
