Yesterday I had my first infusion of remicade. Before they started they gave me two Tylenol and then Benadryl through my IV. And I was just wondering if anyone else started to have a "high" feeling shorty after the Benadryl. Also, I weigh around 102 lbs which might help with the feeling I had.

I had my first infusion on the 11th May (last Friday) but as far as I know they only gave me the Infliximab/Remicade (unless they put the stuff in with it and didnt tell me) and I felt a little funny while I was on it. Not sure if it was only nerves though?
Im 110lb (ish)
How are you feeling now?

Some centers automatically give you Benadryl and steroids or Tylenol with your infusion, but most will only give it to you if you develop an allergy to the Remicade (which generally will show up around the second or third infusion if it is going to happen).

I would imagine that you feeling high was a result of the the IV Benadryl and not the Remicade.

I take tylenol 1/2 hour before my appointment. At the infusion, I get IV benedryl and IV hydrocortisone before every infusion. I have to arrange for a ride home as the IV benedryl makes me so sleepy.
