How is remmission introduced in children because certian medicnes that adults have children cant have. Also once treated how long will it take for the medication to work/ introduce remmission. And when children are in remmission can they go back to their normal diet again. If greesy/ fatty food upsets you when in a flare should ypu not eat it in remmission? Just very confuses

Children take the same medications as adults for crohns
They don't have special medications
They take 5-asa( useless for crohns as monotherapy )
Immunosupresants ( Mtx,6-mp and Aza )
Biologics ( remicade humira cimiza simponi stelera etc...)
remission takes time whether your adult or child
Typically it can be up to a year until you find the right med or med combo

About diet... Once your child is in remission, you may find they can go back to their regular diet if it was a fairly healthy one. When my son first became ill with crohns, he could not tolerate lactose, fiber, or processed and junk foods. Now that he is in remission he can handle lactose and fiber again, but finds processed and junk foods give him symptoms. He can tolerate little treats now and then, but he has to stick to a pretty health diet overall. Some people find a specialied diet like paleo or scd, gluten-free to be beneficial, but we have not gone that route. In my son's case, he has just been advised to stay away from any foods that bother him and eat as healthy as possible.
