Reoccurring BV/Yeast infections due to immune suppression?

Hello all, I will first begin by saying that I know that my problem is something I need to see a doctor about, and I am working to get in to see my OBGYN or PCP, but I am a busy college student and that is extremely difficult. I also wanted to see who else has had issues with vaginal infections due to their immune systems being suppressed.

I had a pretty long term flare last summer into the fall and have been on a huge slew of immunosuppressants and have definitely noticed that things are not good down there. And it extremely hard to tell what it is. I have half the symptoms of yeast and half the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. I also developed a yeast infection on my chest where I had some spots from a reaction to Humira. I have somewhat of an itch, soreness, and strong odor. I don't have the thick discharge of a yeast infection, but I do have excess discharge that would be characteristic of BV. I have tried in the past some OTC yeast treatments, but I don't feel they worked but I also feel like I'm not dealing with yeast, especially because of the odor. I know that when I go to the doctor they're just going to give me antibiotics, but I know that this will come back eventually and I don't want to have to take antibiotics all of the time. I'm wondering if any of you have found at-home treatments for BV that work for you! I have tried inserting coconut oil, and it seems to work for a few hours, maybe 12, and it masks the odor, but I'm not sure if it's something that will make it go away completely. I also haven't tried it consecutively for a few weeks, so maybe that is just what I need to do. Again, I am working on getting to a doctor, but advice from people in the exact situation would be great! Thank you! :)

I'm in the same situation as you, it is very frustrating. I get frequent yeast infections and I've had 3 BV infections in the last 2 years. Most recently I had a yeast infection and a UTI, which was a first for me. I couldn't figure out the smell and the yeasty type discharge so I went to the Dr.
Other then antibiotics I don't really think there is anything you can do about the BV infection. When I get the antibiotics I usually get a refill because it is likely to come back within a couple of weeks. If you treat it twice the chances of it coming back are less.

Good luck! I know what you are going through and it isn't fun
