Well... I just joined. I've been looking into Crohns for a while now. My younger sister who is only 20 has had it for a few years. Everything that she has gone through, I'm pretty much going through. I know my trigger foods. I'm over weight. When I cut out all my trigger foods, I lost 40 pounds. I was at a normal weight. But, I started eating them again and cut out the exercise. I've gained back my 40 pounds and everything is starting back up again.

I hate it. I hate not being able to maintain my weight like I use too. I'm learning. I'm getting ready to start trying to get back into cutting out my trigger foods again. It's hard. I look at my sister who is severely over weight. I don't want to end up like that... I want to loose it while I can. Plus I'm just so tired of the pain....

I'm 26 and I've been suffering for about 3 years now. My name is Kelly. I have a daughter, and after my pregnancy is when everything started bothering me. I use to be the skinny one. If anything when I was younger I was under weight big time, but was able to eat anything I wanted with no problems.

Hi Kelly! Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you joined the group. Have you been diagnosed with Crohn's or is it a suspicion for now? Are you on any medications? How are you feeling nowdays?

Well first they thought it was my gallbladder. I had that removed about a year ago. MY severe acid reflux went away. I still have the severe lower pains, diarrhea, and it's always associated with certain foods. I am hoping to get in soon and be officially diagnosed. But it's come up as a possibility. My younger sister also has celiac disease. I always feel bloated. I always feel like "going". I feel like rubbish.

Well it certainly sounds possible. Have you been referred to a specialist for a colonoscopy? What tests have you had done so far? I'm sorry that you're not feeling well. I really hope you get this figured out soon. In the meantime, we have a fabulous group of people in our Undiagnosed Club that will be more than supportive for you. They all understand what kinds of things you're going through emotionally. http://www.crohnsforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=75

Thanks.

Hi Kelly and welcome! I know you are concerned about your weight - what woman isn't?! But I think you need to focus on figuring out what's going on with your health first. If you suspect Crohn's, you need to see a GI and preform the appropriate tests (colonoscopy, endoscopy, blood work, and/or imaging tests) to see what is going on.

If you do have IBD, it's going to be hard to lose the weight while your Crohn's is untreated. You need to get healthy before you can begin any intense work out routine.

I sure hope you can get some answers soon, and you start to feel better!
