So I was feeling really terrible the last few weeks. really bad colour and I had noticed that my bowel movement where slowing down and becoming a different shape. Feeling as if im going to vomit at every meal. Terrible exhaustion.
It got so bad I started taking a few hours of work just to go home to lay down.

I also noticed that when i was taking my Asacol instead of making things better i was getting worse, so i stopped. The following day after a bad night I phoned a doctor and insisted I was seen. Its so happened I got a new doc that day and she was bloody good now that I look back on things.
Yje minute I walked through the door she told me I looked terrible and she immediatley checked my abdomen. Instantly she said I believe you may have a abscess or appendix problem and you aint going home today .
I ended up in hospital and after four days of tests they could not find anything. I was furious and insisted they keep looking and eventually one of the top surgeons agreed to do laparoscopy to have a look inside.
So last friday I have the op and I was told that the where shocked at the amount of scar tissue on the outside of my colon and surrounding organs. They removed a lot of it but some of it was too dense.
My appendix was around the back of my ceaceum/ large bowel and was starting to rupture. So all in all it turned out to be a much longer operation .

So now Im back home ,pretty sore but just sitting here thinking about the last few years and all those tests and nobody seen any of this .
Ive been taken of all of my meds and will do weekly bloods for the next while.
By the way none of this showed up in any bloods or scans

Peter

I'm sorry to hear you've had such a bad time of things :( .

It's good to hear that your doctor was so good with you and took quick action, but it's not so good that the other doctors took so long to do something about it.

I sincerely hope that your recovery is smooth and uneventful and that you are feeling much better soon.

Hi Peter, how awful. It is so difficult to be your own advocate when you are feeling so ill. Haven't they changed your meds? I am so glad you are home and healing
