I just got back to home after going on a cross country road trip, and my parents tell me that I NEED HELP! I told them that I had the time of my life on my trip and that I haven't felt this healthy since I was a kid. I asked my father if he would rather me be happy, which I am, or depressed and sad all the time. He told me, "I want you to be sad, because you are easier to deal with."

You probably got a great deal of Vitamin D on your drive (Ca, right?)....the fresh air, sun and excitement of a trip was probably a great excursion for you. Congrats!

I am glad you had a nice trip but I agree w/ Dusty. And parents are supposed to want their children happy! It is your life, not theirs! Being a parent is not easy! Why would your father think it should be easy? Sounds like your father could use a little counseling to learn deal w/ grown children!

you can choose your friends but not your relatives eh ?I hope you have friends to be happy with. We're all happy you're happy.

Thanks guys, I wasn't a "problem child" until my Crohn's got really bad. I even set up family counseling that my parents only went to once. Im done trying to fix their problems and gonna focus on my own!!
