scar tissue after surgery

Anyone else having problems with scar tissue after their surgery? Anyone had to have surgery to remove scar tissue....?

im not talking about the scar you see after surgery, im talking about "scar tissue" that form inside your body after any type of surgery.

I've had a couple of surgeries, and I've had no problem with either the external or internal scarring that entailed. However, I do have massive amounts of scar tissue from my Crohns (damage caused by the disease itself, not the surgeries). These continue to give me grief, yet are too extensive to be repaired via surgery. I posted pics of same, but it is not a site for the squemish. As for my surgeries, they were a proverbial walk in the park.

My second resection was partly due to the scar tissue from the first, and partly due to the Crohn's recurring at the surgery site. I had three obstructions in less than 6 months plus nearly constant pain. Since my scans showed the disease was localized, I opted for surgery pretty quickly. Unfortunately (or maybe not) my disease is spread all over my bowels, so surgery isn't an option this time.

yes, my second surgery was also due to the crohns recurring at the surgery site within 1 month.

after your surgeries did you find it harder for your intestines to move food along?

Immediately after the surgeries, yes, it was more difficult. But now food moves through very fast, but I've been flaring for what feels like forever. I can see traces of food I've eaten in my BMs less than 5 hours after I've eaten them, and when I did the pill cam test in January it took only 6 1/2 hours to come out.

I've got a belly full of scar tissue from several abdominal surgeries over the last 20 years. All of my small intestines are stuck together making even the most minor surgery an ordeal for the surgeon.

do you get any symptoms from your intestines being stuck together.. like, i dunno, maybe when food is passing through your intestines start to twist and turn and you feel pressure or pain?

Partial obstructions are not uncommon when scar tissue is present.

I get temporary obstructions from time to time....and by that I mean that I have pain and vomiting, but things do eventually pass on their own and I haven't needed medical attention to clear it.

They're here on the forum, under the 3 yr update thread (I think)

oh my, this is just aweful, you must be in constant pain.
