My son is really wanting a hot dog. Have any of you following SCD found a hotdog that conforms to the diet? I haven't looked and thought I'd check here first  I'd like a little break from checking ingredients!

What about sausage? You can go to the butcher and they should be able to sell real sausages with no additives

I love Applegate Farms! They have some wonderful products. I don't bother with trying to make a bun. Dog, chili, condiments and a side of slaw is the way I go! May run to the store and have that tonight.

The ingredients in Applegate Farms Organic Uncured Beef Hot Dogs are:
Organic Beef, Water, Less than 2% of Sea Salt, Sodium Lactate (naturally occurring salt from beets), Celery Powder, Organic Onion Powder, Organic Spices, Organic Paprika

I think we could have that mizgarnet. I wonder if I can find them in Canada. I know what you mean though with the bun, the bread never tastes the same when you make it yourself lol

KW- Advisable as an occassional meal only! I think that the less processed the better. Comfytummy site has some very good recipes. I was just drooling over the hoppin' john. Check her site out. Lots of good stuff. I have a bunch of meal ideas and recipes I need to post.

You guys should have a look at my SCD thread if you haven't already. Lots of pictures!

I know my local grocery sells Applegate Farms so I'm going to check that out.

I hadn't thought about sausage. My local buther shop does make in-shop sausage.
