Ive been woken up with severe pain above and around my belly button.
Ive taken paracetamol but nothing has worked.

I had something similar in October but it was the middle of the night and out of hours doctors sent me to A + E

It sounds silly but what do I do?!

I start work in 3 hours too.

Do I wait until my doctors are open and call them and get an emergency appointment? Or do I wait abit longer and if it carries on call out of hours?

Im sorry Im still all new to this and very much in pain right now :'(

How are you feeling now?
when in doubt about going to the emergency room, it's better to go. I hope everything is ok

Thank you for replying.
Honestly, I think its getting more intense...
I leave for work in about 40 minutes so im thinking of just going and then phoning doctors when they open and see what they say. But I feel so alone :( My boyfriend is a teacher and gone to work, which I think it why I want to go to work so at least im with people.

I can understand your wanting to be around people. But, if it's getting worse it'd be a good time to go to the ER. Please keep us updated on how you're doing.

Hello all

I was rushed to hospital not long after writing my last update. After many tests they gave me some pain killers which eased it slightly.

I was given my results for my MRI (which I had on Monday) - ALL CLEAR.

They said they couldn't find what would be causing the pain. The only thing that showed up while in hospital was high white blood cells.
I was given morphine and something else.

They wanted to keep me in but I asked if I could go home. She agreed (after a bit of begging) and said that I needed to see my GI asap and will be sent an appointment for an ultrasound.

Im really fed up because I don't seem to be showing anything that could be causing these random flare ups.

Glad you went in, but sad they couldn't figure out what to do to help you. Hopefully something will be able to be done soon for you. Sending lots of hugs to you.

Since hospital I have not been able to go to the toilet :(
Now suffering with constipation and its veryyyy uncomfortable!!!

Sorry you are in discomfort! It could well be the morphine you were given. Does it normally have this effect on you? Are you drinking lots? Soups can be good too. A gentle over the counter laxative may help if it's not contraindicated for you. If it goes on too long you could check with the doctor, esp as they did not establish a cause for your severe pain. Hope you feel better soon.
