Shin pain from standing/walking

So this has been happening for a while. Until recently, I haven't had the energy to get up and walk around a whole lot. I would usually just lay on a couch or recliner for 95% of the day..

And I don't ever remember this happening until after I got really sick, down to 76 lbs and being in the hospital. The first time it happened was when I flew and walking after the plane landed. (happens every time I go to the airport)

I don't know exactly how to describe what's happening since I'm not experiencing it at the moment but this is how I remember it from the past couple weeks.

The front of my shins would feel really sore or in pain, not like an ache because usually the sensation is 'solid' only while standing/walking- taking a step and for a small time after I sit down to rest.

I don't think it's super intense but it will cause me to sit down and wait for it to subside before moving continuing to move on.

When I sit down it goes away and I can walk or stand for a while before it comes back.

So, I'm just wondering, does this happen to a lot of people or is this normal? What can I do to help it?

I'm quite mal-nourished(but improving), I'm on Humira- every two weeks, and until recently I have not been moving around a whole lot.

Well, I know for me if I wear poorly fitted shoes my feet, shins and knees will ache. I have extra wide feet, 4E in size, and finding shoes that fit can be a chore. On Monday I ran into that problem with my knees and shins hurting. I have a pair of Merrell shoes that are wide, but apparently not wide enough. After a short jaunt around the block in the afternoon found myself hurting for the rest of the day.

Good luck! Hope you find some energy soon, and not to mention the feet and shins stop aching.

Is all your taking is Humira? Because when I take my steroid (Prednisone currently) I get the kind of pain you are describing in the front of my shins. It feels like the skin is extremely stretched out. It only happens when I am on this steroid.

Remember, when you are mal-nourished, take it easy! If you need to sit, do it! The last thing you want to do is over work yourself. If the pain is too much, don't try and push through it.

Yeah, just Humira.
