Hello everyone, Im a 30 year old female and I have just been diagnosed with Chrones diesease. After almost a year of constast blood and mucus in my stool along with pain they finally know what it is. Im on a treatment of steriods at the moment to see if it will help. Its nice to eet everyone and hopefully I can get some support here for this embarrassing disease.:rosette2:

Welcome Katrina! You are in the right place for support! So many of us know EXACTLY what you are going through, right down to the mucus. :)

Hi Katrina! My first and only symptom at the time of diagnosis was blood and mucus, so I can completely relate. But with treatment, it has greatly reduced. I hope the steroids do the trick, but it is important to start a maintenance med to keep the inflammation away in the future.

Try not to be embarrassed of your disease. I was, too, in the beginning. But after speaking with so many doctors and being on the forum, I have gotten much more comfortable with it. I hope you can, too, because it isn't good bottling it up. And a great place to start talking about it is right here, because we are all in the same boat!

haha... I am going to ask you in about 2 months if you are still embarrassed talking about it (my very first post I said the same). I think I embarassed my friend who took me to my GI appointment today talking about it.. one guy on here (forget his name but he is from Grimsby) will ask if you have any good poo stories... he is joking of course (I think??)

Hang in Katrina - there are a lot of really good people here :)

Welcome! It does seem horribly embarrassing at first. You get used to it with doctors and nurses, and your friends will still be your friends.

Hi Katrina,
Welcome to the forum. I hope you can get your symptoms under control soon. You've come to the right place for info and support!
