Hi Everyone,
My boyfriend has crohns disease and his flare up was in July this year and was in the hospital for a month. He had surgery and had about a foot of his colon taken out because he had a blockage. He was doing well after his surgery, but now he is severely bloated, nauseous and can not function. He had his first infusion of remicade about 2 weeks ago and before that he was on 6mp for about a week. He did horribly on the 6mp with the severe bloating and nausea and he decided to go off of it. So now I don't know what is causing these symptoms because his surgeon said that the surgery would not cause this to happen. Is it possible that the 6mp is still in him after 2 weeks? The other doctor said it takes about 5 to 7 days for it to leave the body, but I'm not convinced. It seems like his symptoms come in the later afternoon so if anyone has advice or has gone through this experience I'd greatly appreciate your advice.
Thanks!
