Hi everybody,

I'm about 6 infusions in of infliximab, plus I'm also taking 150mg of Azathioprine a day, I haven't had any side effects at all. I feel the best I have in years, but I still have a little worry that I'm going to start feeling shoddy. Just wondered if anybody else has had the same experience as I've read so many bad reports of the treatment...

Ps this is not a moan lol

I didn't have any bad side effects from Remicade, but I did have a bad reaction to azathioprine at 6 weeks. Most negative side effects from both drugs will happen in the first couple of months. Hopefully that means you won't have any...wooHOO!!

I had my first treatment yesterday- wicked headache today not sure I would say it was the Remicade. I did have some horrible cramping and D last night. Again I did not attribute that to the Remicade. Other than that I didnt feel anything else. I expected to be tired after the Benedryl and Zyrtec. Both have the ability to knock me out!

That's great, Lauren! The benadryl usually makes me drag the rest of the day after the infusion, you got lucky!!

Hopefully you can get the headache to go away and that will be the worst of it. Fingers crossed that you don't have any problems and it starts helping soon!

SarahAnn-

Thank you, they also give you a does of tylenol with your other
premeds. Due to flu like side affects? I think thats what I remember.
Anyway next time I am going to keep up with the tylenol for the next
day.

Lauren - Yes, I get benadryl, tylenol and prednisone about 20 minutes before my infusion starts. I usually have to take more tylenol in the evening because my knees start aching but that only lasts the one night after my infusion.

I take the pre-meds to avoid anaphalytic shock, happened once when I wasn't pre-medicated ~ very scary. It's never happened a second time, I get my pre-meds, my blood pressure stays stable the entire time and the benadryl makes me sleepy.

SarahAnne,
I just want the headache to go away and stay away.
Any suggestions? I guess I am my own worst enemy
I need to just take the Tylenol!! Right?

Lauren

That's all I can do when I get a headache, lots of water and tylenol. I don't get migraines, but if I do get one that won't go away sometimes a strong cup of coffee will do it.

I don't get headaches often but I hate them more than anything. I have to make it go away before falling asleep. I can't sleep one off, if I fall asleep with one when I wake up it's always worse.

Sometimes a cold cloth on the forehead in a dark room will help, especially if it is a tension or stress headache.

Good luck Lauren.
