Hi there! On June 18th I got a sore throat that by the end of the day was so bad it was extremely painful to swallow. I had a fever in the evening (temp was 99, usual for me is 96.7-97.4 average). I was flying the next day so I went to the Dr who prescribed penicillin for a sinus infection (sinus pain when I woke up) and a nasal spray.
I stopped having sinus pain four days after starting antibiotics and felt pretty good the remainder of the ten days. I took my last pill on Sunday.
Monday I got a sore throat again and still have it and this morning it is also in my chest a bit. My head feels heavy, but not the searing sinus pain like before. I have had no fever this time.
So I am wondering, where there has been no fever do I just treat it like a virus and wait it out? Or should I go see the Dr? Can it be a continuation of infection where I felt fine for six days in between? or likely to be the virus that is going around.
My next Remicade infusion is the 24th, and then we fly to Vancouver the 26th. So I feel like I have a bit of time to not jump to anibiotics if I don't need them, if that makes any sense?
