skin tags

Okay last few days been burninga bit more than usual. CHecked under skin tag 12 days ago and it was light red to a dark red. Checked again last night and it all light red and the skin tag seemed to make a little nest for itself, it seem to be indented. this is where my fissure was and left 1 month ago until this. Is the redness the fissure reopening. Please some advice.

Skin tags are part of this dreaded disease! Yes I have them also, usually mine are inflamed if I have hard BM or just in a flare. I do sits bath’s and use hydrocortisone cream.

thanks for reply, do you try get the cream under the tag where its red or just on topof tag. The tag itself is not red, just the skin underneath it. Could that be an infection

I put on hydrocortisone cream all over. You may have developed a fissure - a little tear

My doc gave me betamet...something... not cream... Have you heard of this? I can't say it really helps. I was also given hydrocortisone suppositories but last time I did them my fissure turned into an absess. I want to believe they are unrelated, but I don't know.

I have crazy skin tags. I hate them. Sorry for the spelling... lol

Red patch could be anything from just dry skin or irritation to infection, if you are concern, then I would suggest to see your doctor. I also use over the counter lotion called Balneol after each BM - it’s very soothing and helps keep that area Ph balanced.

I had a large amount of skin tags. I went to a Colorectal Surgeon and he removed them by laser. I had a lot of drainage with them as well. Not a pleasant thing. They would itch hurt. bleed and sometimes nothing. Feel better now. I used baby wipes, and hemorrhoid wipes. They would help some, but not much.

No i haven't heard about these 2 creams, betamet or balneol but will look for them next time i;m in town. I'm a chicken to get them removed, i heard its painful. I quess if i had no choice i would. Well i checked again today and its still light red but now the indent is smooth and not wrinkly like before. My dr. is away until jan4 and don't know if i should go to er. Its an hour ride to hosptal but i would go if needed. Any advice is i should go in or wait till my dr. gets back. I just hope its not infected.

I'd be inclined to wait, Matty, unless I was in an awful lot of pain or there are signs of infection like swelling, heat, oozing etc.
Kit, that's interesting that you had yours removed. I'm sure I read in several places that docs were reluctant to do this for Crohns patients. Must've been great to get rid of the blighters!

well i had to go into town today, abit late to pick up nephew and i'm also into 3 months with i think a foot plantar wart that looked infected. It was tiny bit swollen and red. So i figured while in town get them both checked. Went to er and nurse said foot doesn't look infected then dr. checked and she said no infection. She said my bum looked good just some loose skin. She said no skin tag but surgeon saw it there and so does my partner. she was young so i kind of don't know what to think. She said to file alittle at a time the callas that is over the wart. Its red and slightly swollen so i mean is she and nurse right.
