Husband and I keep these things on hand. Easy to keep some in the cars too for when we're on the road or I'm at work.

Kellogg's Special K Pastry Crisps
Quaker Chewy Yogurt granola bars (Blueberry & Strawberry)

Both my wife and I have to stay away from gluten and dairy. We have been using Larabars lately. My favorite is pumpkin so far.

I'm sorry. :( I'm lactose intolerant. But, seem to do alright on these. Glad to hear that you've found something that you can have and like so far though!!! Do understand that things can get a little old when you have them all the time though. Hopefully you'll find some other things you can have an like! Good luck! :)

I was going to start a new thread on this but I'll just bump this one up.
I'm newly diagnosed and still figuring out what I can and can't have. I'm on Pred and my appetite has increased a lot.
I can have rich tea biscuits and shrewsberry biscuits, seem to be okay with cheese and onion seabrook crips yet not so sure about Pringles.

I love sweets/candy but I haven't really tried anything other than jelly beans which again I'm not sure of as I was okay one time but then the next I got stomach ache :/

Can anyone suggest snack food I should try?

Udi's makes gluten free muffins which are pretty good. Thrrevis also ice cream made with coconut milk which is pretty good. You can also try the larabar bars I mentioned above.

There are some good gluten and dairy free foods in the organic/natural section of quite a few grocery stores. K-toos has some good cookies which are almost as good as Oreos. Udi's has quite a bit of good stuff. I found some good granola bars which are also gluten and dairy free, and some good mixes for making cookies and stuff at home as well.

There is an app for the iPhone called ipiit that will let you scan the bar code of foods and tell you if the (preselected) foods you need to avoid are in it or not, without going over every ingredient list.

Thanks for the info about the app Cindy.
I'm new to crohns and not seen a specialist or dietician yet but as far as I know I don't need to be on a GF diet.

If this changes, I'm sure the app will be very helpful

It also works for many other foods besides gluten, like dairy, nuts and stuff. There's a whole of foods to pick from and after you scan the label, it will tell you the food is not for you if there are any of the ingredients you've picked in there, and tell you it's safe for you if none of them are in there. :)

Thanks for the advice. My wife and I want a smartphone. I should not be doing gluten or dairy. My wife does not have Crohn's or Colitis but she still has food allergies.
