Had a gastroscopy and an colonoscopy today and the results state a diagnosis of "ileitis" and that i had patchy eurythma in my terminal ileum
They have given me a prescription for 3 months of budesonide
i googled ileitis and i googled the steroid and they both said crohn's disease?
am i taking that i probably have crohn's? i really wish i could remember what the doctor said but i was highly sedated
I'm relieved that they have finally found something after the other hospital making it out like it was ibs for so long but also scared.

Im not surprised that you're confused. ..

It is probably worthwhile contacting your gastro and asking to confirm your diagnosis.
Im sure they get it all the time that people are too sedated to remember what the doctor said.

But this definitely looks like you're on the road to feeling better. Is the medication working for you?

I've not started it yet they just gave me a prescription form so I will start it next week! just very confused about the whole thing to be honest my follow up appointment isn't til august and i don't want to worry that I have crohn's for 4 months without having an answer. got an mri on Monday so hopefully i can ask them some questions as i won't be sedated,
thanks for the advice but i don't have a number for the consultant.

hiya yes ileitis can be Crohns but can also be other things (nsaid induced etc Google it)
my diagnosis was Crohns - severe ileitis, meaning crohns in the ileum. i would think yes you do have crohns because of the meds given but call your GI to confitm
sorry you also have this hun but at least they can help you if you are diagnosed

diagnosed

I don't take any medication and hardly ever have pain killers so i don't think it could be caused by this. I will wait the two weeks for my biopsy results and then ring up, it's nice to have some answers but it's all a bit scary to me

Good luck with your mri. Hopefully you can get some answers then..

Your GP will have access to your colonoscopy report.. as it is all electronic now between hospitals and your GP. So make an appointment to see your GP in the interim just to have your diagnosis discussed in detail

You dont want to wait until august and worry like this
